Not all the students live at Magic School, and infact, most of them don't. So if you are going to have them live at magic school, please make sure it is a good reason.
The school only accepts students that are orphaned, in very bad domestic situations, or people who are under a very high risk when living outside Magic School. They are not in the business of pulling students away from a structured and loving home life they need. Not all the characters can live there, and unless there is proper explanation in the bio, there is chance you may be asked to have them live at home with a guardian of some sort.
